Tight Turn – Stampede Rodeo, Calgary, Alberta, Canada 2011
Images in this gallery were captured at the Calgary Stampede. The 2011 images were captured handheld while seated in the infield (row 5) with a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L lens. With the chutes just below us, at times I was too close to the action, especially with the bulls who tended to not wander too far from the chute area. The afternoon sun was brilliant, creating strong shadows, so I opted to process these images with a strong contrast, gritty detail, graphic black & white style in Lightroom 3 with the Topaz Detail and Topaz B&W Effects plug-ins.
