Racing Canoe Reflections, Granville Island, Vancouver, British Columbia

This image was captured handheld on Granville Island in Vancouver during a still and overcast morning.  The lack of waves or distortions on the black water provided a dramatic element to this strong geometrical composition.  I did edit this image by cloning out several imperfections on the water’s surface caused by floating debris and sea weed.  The square aspect ratio was selected to enhance the geometry of this series of images.  You can see more of this series at: Vancouver Collection
