Olde Man Tree, Fish Creek Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada –  Oct 2010

This image was captured with a tripod on a dull autumn day in Fish Creek Provincial Park in south Calgary.  The overall lack of colour and the incredible detail of the tree trunks strongly suggested I process the image as a high contrast black & white interpretation.  The position of the deadfall in the foreground and the detail of the distant trees on the horizon add significantly to the overall composition I think.
